Past Week

Sadly, this week, a friend of mine was laid to rest. I went to a small private school from kindergarten through senior year. One of the guys I graduated with took his life and was buried Wednesday. I made very few "life-long friends" at this school, so I haven't seen or spoken with most in a decade. It was amazing to see how quickly and how many classmates somehow made contact with me and each other to spread the incredibly sad news. There were several classmates at his visitation. There were hundreds of people there and we stood in line for about 45 minutes to see him. Since I have a 5 week old, I did not attend the funeral. I heard that it was packed as well. He was loved by so many people. What a tragedy.

On a lighter note, I went shopping last night and bought some clothes that fit! I was too small for my maternity clothes and way too big for my regular clothes. (It's cruel that you're in that transition stage in early pregnancy in one season and after pregnancy in another!) The shopping experience was difficult because all of the stores have their spring attire out and I'm shopping for sweaters! Although, this made most of what I did find on clearance.

Thursday, I went to my folks' house. I was going to bring over Macie's birthday gift because I thought I was going to be out of town for her one year birthday party. Thankfully, Michael and I will be here that weekend! Whenever we make it out to Rockwall, it is like the paparazzi is there. Below are the pictures taken that day. I L-O-V-E this one!My nieces, Maddie and Macie. Maddie has developed quite a southern accent. She cracked me up how she said Macie and Audrey.
It is official, Audrey loves Maddie. I think Audrey's first smile in a true response to something came when Maddie was making noises at her. Too cute!

What a Weekend!

Friday, I was able to take Audrey back to work to show off to all of my old colleagues while they had a PTA luncheon. The night before, Audrey received the ADORABLE outfit seen below. It also came with a cute white blouse and a pink toboggan with a blue flower. Her head has to grow quite a bit to wear the toboggan. Everyone loved her at school! She was wide-eyed and alert nearly the entire time. I enjoyed getting to see everyone.

Friday night, Michael and I wanted to try a restaurant outside of Addison for a change. We headed north and chose to eat at P F Chang's. We waited over an hour to be seated, but it gave us a chance to catch up with each other while we waited. During this time, Michael stressed how important it was that he studied that night and all of Saturday. We split a delicious meal and headed home after 10 o'clock to hit the sack - no studying was done.

As I get up to feed Audrey Friday night/Saturday Morning, I realize I don't feel good at all. Afraid that I might have food poisoning, I ask Michael how he feels since we ate the same meal. He feels fine. Phew! Not food poisoning! I woke up Saturday morning vomiting and with a fever. The fever did not go away. Both of our parents are out of town this weekend. Michael became Mr. Mom and not a word was studied. Poor guy. I felt horrible about this. Turns out that we'll just pay a fine and he'll take his test next month in conjunction with another.

BTW, I feel MUCH better now. :)

BTW, Meredith, have no worries, I knew you were kidding. I also knew I needed to post more pictures. :)

More Pics

In responding to Meredith's comment, I am posting more pictures. Realize that I'm home on my own now and Audrey's mouth has been purple because of thrush medication. Taking pictures and posting them is hard for me to do. Hopefully, I will get better! Today is the only day this week that I'm not going somewhere with her. I didn't realize how many friends I have that stay home. I'm very thankful for them!

1 Month

Audrey is one month old today! Wow! It really doesn't feel like that much time has gone by. She is developing a little personality now. She likes to "coo" at her daddy...and spit up on me. ;) She has battled with thrush last week and went through a growth spurt this week. We also have been able to spend time with friends and her friends are mostly boys. We'll need to keep an eye on these fellows!

Holidays

The holidays were busy! We had family on both sides in town. It was fun getting together, but I realized just how hard it is to walk out the door on time with a newborn. We were able to make it to Audrey's first doctor appointment on time, thank goodness.

Niece Kaley and nephew Matthew in Matthew's biggest XMas present.

Jenny getting some sweet girl time.

The 2 pictures below are how Michael and I spend a lot of our days. This is the best way to catch up on sleep!

This is our deep thinker. She often has this pensive look on her face. Notice her hands - she tries to do this a lot! She finally got all of her fingers in the right spot.
